"Those are SO Old Lady!"

When I turned 10 years old, my parents took me to get my ears pierced for my birthday, after a couple years of my insistent requests. When I was 11 or 12, my Great Aunt Sylvia sent me a pair of earrings she'd purchased for me during one of her trips. Upon recieving them, I opened the box and saw what I thught were ridiculously huge green orbs on gold posts. I declared them "so old lady!" I also could never have seen myself wearing these hideous, and figured I neer would. So, out of respect for the woman who gave them to me, and the gift that they were, I stored them away.

A couple years ago, I pulled those earrings out and tried them on. Whoa and behold... I found them rather flattering, though perhaps still large for my tastes. The past six months I've put them on periodically when I thought they would suit what I was wearing, or my hair style. Now, after owned these little gems for 12+ years.. how did that happen... I find myself loving these earrings and wearingthem nearly every day!!

So, a Huge Thank You to my dear Aunt Sylvia for her vintage tastes the foresight to think jade earrings would look lovely under my auburn hair!!

Courtney, I have to agree with auntie's taste -- I adore those earrings! My hands-down, absolute favorite pairs of earrings look nearly identical to these, only they're silver, bright mustard yellow or cream, respective of the pair. I bet the green looks lovely with your new hair cut! (Which is completely darling...and you're not alone. So very few stylists really "get" vintage hair, do they?)

Ooh and one more thing...Monster Java - huge check. Mean Bean. Oh how I love that stuff! Good call!

And I still have 2 pairs of my roller skates :) Because I'm a big dork and will risk life and limb at the 1 remaining rink in Columbus to go! Both white, one with navy wheels (my originals) and one with red wheels (eBay a few years ago).

What fun!

Eve, go roller skating as often as you can while you can! It's been so bloody long for me. :( Having little people that have feet too small for skates makes it difficult to go.

Thanks, Lolita! I totally digg your blog, and your style.
